Bitcoin Becomes the Dominant Crypto to Watch Throughout 2022
Since the turn of the year, price aggregation sites such as Coinmarketcap (CMC) and Coingecko (CG) have offered a list of which cryptocurrencies investors are most concerned about. This is so investors can see whether their favorite coin is on the list or not.
According to Bitcoin.com, the top ten crypto assets have a count of how many users voted for a particular coin to add to their watchlist. Among CG and CMC coin market cap aggregation sites, bitcoin (BTC) is the top coin in terms of watchlist.
At the time of writing on Coingecko, bitcoin (BTC) is on 1,192,111 watchlists, and on Coinmarketcap, bitcoin is on 3,656,754 watchlists, which equates to a total of over 4.84 million watchlists as of December 29, 2022.
Ethereum takes second place with a total of 4,109,238 watchlists with 1,104,484 coming from CG, and 3,004,754 from CMC. Under BTC and ETH, crypto token ADA is in third place with 2.94 million, BNB with 2.45 million, and XRP with around 2.21 million watchlists.
ADA, BNB, and XRP are followed by crypto coins like DOGE with 2.14 million, polygon (MATIC) 1.84 million, and total stablecoin tether (USDT) 1.52 million as of December 29.
While there are three stablecoins in the top ten coin market, dollar-pegged assets are the least-monitored pool of the top cryptos. While USDT leads the way with 1.52 million, BUSD’s watchlist count is much lower with 351,265 watchlists.
