A group of students from Politecnico di Torino University have launched a project that aims to bring Bitcoin education to Italian high schools. The project, called BitGeneration, will host 10 meetings for 30 selected students from different schools across Italy.

Italian Students Learn About Bitcoin Through BitGeneration Project

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency that operates without any central authority or intermediary. It was created in 2009 by an anonymous person or group using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin has attracted worldwide attention for its innovative technology, economic potential, and social impact.

BitGeneration is an initiative of BitPolito, a group of students who are interested in Bitcoin research and development. BitPolito was founded in 2022 with the support of Politecnico di Torino University and its Department of Control and Computer Engineering.

The BitGeneration project will cover topics such as Bitcoin history, technology, economics, and social impact. The meetings will last three hours each and will be held at the university campus. The meetings will include lectures, workshops, quizzes, and games.

The project aims to inspire more young people to learn about Bitcoin and its potential for innovation. The project also hopes to create a network of Bitcoin enthusiasts among Italian students and teachers.

The project coordinator, Marco Rossi1, said that BitGeneration is a unique opportunity for Italian high school students to learn about Bitcoin from experts and peers.

“We want to share our passion for Bitcoin with other students who may not know much about it,” Rossi said1. “We believe that Bitcoin is not only a currency but also a social phenomenon that can change the world for the better.”

Rossi added that BitGeneration is open to collaboration with other schools and organizations that are interested in promoting Bitcoin education.

“We hope that BitGeneration will be the first step towards creating a national network of Bitcoin clubs in Italian high schools,” Rossi said1. “We invite anyone who wants to join us or support us to contact us through our website or social media channels.”

BitGeneration is one of the first projects of its kind in Italy and Europe. It follows similar initiatives in other countries such as France2, where high school students can learn about Bitcoin as part of their curriculum since 2019.
