PayPal and MetaMask Collaboration Will Facilitate Crypto Purchases

PayPal will integrate its buy, sell and hold crypto services with the MetaMask crypto wallet as the company looks to broaden users’ options for transferring digital assets from their platform.

According to a PayPal press release, the partnership between the payments company and MetaMask developer ConsenSys is intended to allow users to select their PayPal account as a payment option to buy ether (ETH) from within the MetaMask app.

“This offer is designed to facilitate seamless purchases and transfers from PayPal to MetaMask,” PayPal said in a press release, quoted from CoinDesk, Thursday (15/12/2022).

MetaMask intends to offer to help bring more users into the Web3 ecosystem at a time when the sector is looking for a way forward during the crypto winter.

MetaMask ConsenSys product manager Lorenzo Santos said this integration with PayPal will allow users to make buying crypto easier.

“Not only will buying crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but it will also make it easier for users to explore the Web3 ecosystem,” explained Santos.

Currently this feature is only available to select US customers. This is because PayPal is working to roll out the service to US customers. more over the next few weeks.

This launch follows PayPal’s push to enable crypto transfers between its own platform and several popular crypto exchanges in June 2022. The fintech company debuted its crypto buying, selling and holding service in October 2020.

My recommendation is still to buy PYPL shares. There is room for PayPal to exceed expectations with its 2023 performance because there aren’t many high expectations for the corporation.
